Child Safety:
According to the National
Center for the Missing, Exploited Children (NCMEC) there will be approximately
58,000 non-family abductions this year.
-
One out of five girls and
one out of every ten boys will be sexually abused before they reach adulthood.
-
Most abductions are done by
luring children to a vehicle rather than taking them by force.
-
Half are 4-11 years of age.
The rest, 12 or older. 74% are girls.
-
The FBI receives over 2000
missing child reports every day.
-
One child goes missing every
40 seconds - 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.
Even more alarming are
statistics from the U.S. Department of Justice and the World Almanac which
places the chance of your child being abducted at 1 in 42.
According to the National
Center for Missing and Exploited Children, in the past 15 of the past 18 years,
there has been an increase in the number of missing children.
Bullying:
Surveys show 77% of students are
bullied mentally, verbally, and physically.
-
One out of four kids will be abused by
another youth.
-
14% of those bullied said they
experienced severe reactions to the abuse.
-
8% of students miss one day of class
per month for fear of bullies.
-
43% fear harassment in the bathroom at
school.
-
282,000 students are physically
attacked in secondary schools each month.
Kidz'nPower
is designed to teach your
children that the danger is real and that there are ways of recognizing the
danger signs and avoiding situations that might put them in harms way.
Our mission is to raise the awareness
level of children in the areas of bullying, child sexual abuse prevention and
child abduction prevention. Our goal is to teach children how to respond if they
are touched inappropriately, someone attempts to abduct them or they are
mentally or physically abused by adults or their peers.
With the Kidsz'nPower programs we are here to
help educate children in these sensitive areas so as
not to produce fear but to instill confidence.
No Abduction, No Abuse, No Easy Target!
